This is a story of intrigue, murder, betrayal and devotion set in the wilderness of Northern Idaho. A young Nez Perce couple - wildlife biologists - inadvertently are dragged into an international criminal ring of animal poachers whose power and influence reach as far away as Washington, DC and Seoul, Korea. After a close friend is killed and his wife, Ellen, is kidnapped, Yellow Bear pursues the villains while avoiding a manhunt conducted by the local sheriff, who believes Yellow Bear is responsible for the murder. I wrote this story primarily to educate the reader about the biology and behavior of bears, an otherwise dry subject that is palatably seasoned by the suspense of the novel.
